Our dental office in Lauderhill, Florida does more than provide you with the dental care that you need. As a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, Dr. Marino provides cosmetic dentistry and cosmetic services that are designed around her patients’ needs and wants. Come in for a free cosmetic consultation and let us know what you’re hoping to get out of your care. Whether it’s a brighter smile or a whole new look, we will design a treatment plan around you.
We can use porcelain veneers to change your smile in subtle or dramatic ways. Veneers are thin porcelain shells that we bond to the front side of your teeth to change their size, shape, and color. We can even use them to close small gaps between teeth that maybe aren’t severe enough for orthodontics.
With veneers, we work with you to design the exact look you’re going for. The dental lab uses this design to create your veneers, which we then adhere to your teeth to give you a new look. The veneers process usually requires that we remove a small amount of enamel from teeth, which makes it a permanent procedure. But in some cases, a patient may qualify for “non-prep” or “minimal cutting” veneers, which is more of a reversible procedure.
Whitening your teeth is one of the fastest and easiest ways to give your smile and your confidence, a boost. As part of our cosmetic dentistry services, Marino Family Dental offers new breakthrough whitening technology….Glo Science! Why choose Glo? This state-of-the-art technology can whiten your teeth up to 5 shades in only 32 minutes and has no teeth sensitivity, avoids messy impressions/trays/strips, and gives the patient free range of motion during the appointment!
BOTOX injections at the dentist? It makes more sense than you might think. Dentists have been trained in structures of the face, so they are well-equipped to administer BOTOX and dermal fillers. These are used to eliminate wrinkles and fine lines, including smile and laugh lines, along with lip enhancement. BOTOX can also be used therapeutically to treat chewing muscles and lessen the habit of destructive tooth grinding.
This along with fabrication of a hard night guard appliance will prevent damage to and lengthen the life of your dental restorations.
Marino Family Dental is proud to offer BOTOX and dermal filler specials to our patients.
Our Team at Marino Family Dental provides comprehensive dental care to the entire community. Maintaining a healthy, beautiful smile takes work. It’s important to stick to a good at-home routine of brushing twice a day and flossing daily. But it’s also key to visit the dentist every six months for an exam and cleaning. When you regularly come to our dental office, our team is able to look out for signs of potential problems. When we can catch problems early, we can often provide more conservative treatment and save your smile from needing lots of work down the road.
Could your smile use some work to get back to full health and function? Dr. Marino offers an extensive line-up of restorative dental services to ensure that you have full use of your teeth as well as a beautiful smile. If dental anxiety is keeping you from getting the work done that you need, we also have relaxing sedation options to keep you comfortable while we work.
Let’s face it: dental emergencies rarely happen when you have an appointment the next day. No matter what emergency comes up, our office can help you get your smile healthy again fast. As an emergency dentist serving Lauderhill, we set aside time in our schedule each day to treat dental emergencies, so call us as soon as you can to be seen quickly. In the meantime, here are a few of the most common emergencies we see and how you can treat them until your appointment time.
Severe toothache
Clean the area thoroughly by brushing lightly. Use a saltwater rinse to dislodge any food particles that might be stuck. Use an over-the-counter pain reliever, but never put it directly on the gums or tooth. If there is swelling, apply a cold compress for 15 minutes. If swelling continues or gets severe, go to the emergency room.
Chipped or broken tooth
Rinse dirt and debris from the area, and find and save any tooth pieces you can. If there is swelling, use a cold compress to relieve it; to control excess bleeding, apply pressure by biting down on a clean piece of gauze. Bring the tooth pieces to your appointment so we can do our best to save your natural tooth.
Knocked-out permanent tooth
Pick up the tooth, being careful to only touch the crown (the part that shows above the gumline). Limit handling the tooth to avoid transferring debris or bacteria. Instead, place the tooth in a glass of milk to transport it to our office. Keeping the tooth moist – either by reinserting it or putting it in milk – is essential to saving the tooth, as is getting to our office as soon as possible. See Dr. Marino within the hour for reinsertion.
Are you missing teeth? Even one missing tooth can make you feel like you’re missing out on things like eating your favorite foods or smiling with confidence. At Marino Family Dental, we can help restore your smile permanently with the help of dental implants. Dr. Marino can place your implant and get you fitted for a restoration to complete your smile. Want to know if dental implants are right for you? Come in for a consultation with our team!
Our patients tell us that they love dental implants for replacing teeth. Dental implants provide a number of benefits:
At our Lauderhill dental office, the dental implants process takes place over multiple appointments. We feel confident that, after all is said and done, you’ll think your new smile was worth the effort.
To start, we bring you in for a consultation to go over your needs and lifestyle. We’ll work with you to determine if implants are right for you, and if they are, what the best restoration option is for your unique needs. During your placement appointment, we surgically place the implant into the jawbone in place of the missing tooth. Because the implant is made of titanium, a biocompatible material, it will fuse with your jawbone to essentially become a replacement tooth root. Since this is a surgical procedure, we can provide sedation to keep you comfortable while we work.
Once the implant has fused with your bone (usually happens within a few months), we bring you back in to make sure the implant looks sturdy and begin to prep you for your restoration. We’ll take molds to ensure that the design of your restoration is exactly what you need. Once your restoration is back from the dental lab, come in for a fitting and placement. With your restoration placed, you’re all set! You can head out of our office that day confident in your new smile.
Millions of Americans suffer from some level of dental anxiety. For some people, it’s as minor as just feeling anxious while in the dental chair, but for others, the nerves can be so bad that they avoid the dentist for years. This is, of course, bad for dental health as it means dental professionals can’t find and treat problems early, and it may leave those people with missing teeth down the road. At Marino Family Dental, we provide sedation dentistry to our anxious patients to help them feel relaxed while we do all the work.
Also called laughing gas, nitrous oxide is an excellent sedation option for patients with mild to moderate dental anxiety. You simply inhale the sweet-smelling gas through a mask placed over your nose. The gas creates a heightened sense of relaxation, so you feel calm and comfortable while our team completes your treatment. We can use nitrous oxide with any treatment to help ease your fears. Benefits of nitrous oxide sedation include:
If your anxiety about dental procedures is moderate to severe, we may recommend oral conscious sedation to help you get through your appointment. With this sedation method, we prescribe an anti-anxiety medication like Valium for you to take prior to your appointment. Once you’re in the dental chair, you should feel at ease and maybe even a little drowsy. You probably won’t even remember much of the appointment, but you’ll be conscious the entire time to answer questions or let us know if you need a break. We always work at a pace that’s comfortable for you. With the help of oral conscious sedation, we can perform more complex dental procedures in fewer appointments so you don’t have to keep coming back to our dental office.
Because the anti-anxiety medications used in oral conscious sedation stay in the body for longer, we require you to have someone drive you home after your appointment for your safety.
